Interoperability between SAP® Software and SharePoint® Services from Microsoft®
Topaz Bridge S2 is a native SharePoint application that interoperates with the workflow and data structures inside SAP® software. We take advantage of interoperability features in Microsoft SharePoint, as well as unique capabilities developed by Topaz Bridge to provide a seamless, bidirectional relationship between Topaz Bridge S2 and SAP software applications.
Topaz Bridge S2 1.0 integrates with the SAP ERP application using enterprise services. An application that has SAP-certified integration with one or more SAP applications via enterprise services has proven to interoperate with those SAP applications by using enterprise services. These enterprise services enable third-party solutions such as Topaz Bridge S2 to communicate directly with the data structures and business processes in SAP solutions.
Topaz Bridge, SAP Software and Microsoft SharePoint Interoperability Architecture
Topaz Bridge S2 uses the business integration features of the SharePoint® Services from Microsoft® Business Data Catalog (BDC). Topaz Bridge has created SAP-specific BDC application definitions to take advantage of low-level BAPI functions within the SAP ERP Central Component (ECC) for retrieving and submitting data. Topaz Bridge S2 includes a series of sample web pages, a gallery of web parts and a rich set of content types built on these application definitions. These building blocks are ready-to-use with Topaz Bridge S2 and can also be modified and re-purposed into custom solutions.
Single Sign-On to SAP Software and Sharepoint Server
Topaz Bridge S2 users take advantage of the single sign-on mechanism of SharePoint to authenticate to both SharePoint and SAP software. Topaz Bridge only supports individual authentication against the SAP Single Sign-on. Based on their role, SharePoint users can only see and do what they are allowed to see: - no more, no less.
